One Hour of Your Time

As soon as I finished this story, I said AWWW... It's true sometimes. May we try and be better parents after reading this story.

A man came home from work late again, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door. "Daddy, may I ask you a question?"
"Yeah, sure, what is it?" replied the man.
"Daddy, how much money do you make an hour?"
"That's none of your business. What makes you ask such a thing?" the man said angrily.
"I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?" pleaded the little boy.
"If you must know, I make $20.00 an hour."
"Oh," the little boy replied, head bowed.
Looking up, he said, "Daddy, may I borrow $10.00 please?"
The father was furious. "If the only reason you wanted to know how much money I make is just so you can borrow some to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you're being so selfish. I work long, hard hours everyday and don't have time for such childish games."
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even madder about the little boy's questioning. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money. After an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think he may have been a little hard on his son. Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $10.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
"Are you asleep son?" he asked.
"No daddy, I'm awake," replied the boy.
"I've been thinking, may be I was too hard on you earlier," said the man.
"It's been a long day and I took my aggravation out on you. Here's that $10.00 you asked for."
"The little boy sat straight up, beaming. "Oh, thank you daddy" he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow, he pulled out some more crumpled up bills. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at the man. "Why did you want more money if you already had some? " the father grumbled.
"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy replied. "Daddy, I have $20.00 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?"

Lion House Cinnamon Rolls

Hi gang! Welcome to new followers, I love checking out your blogs and the others sites you follow, some have been a great help and others just plain fun to read. It is snowing here in northern Utah, sad, but true. And I need something warm and yummy this morning, so I'm going to share with you Lion House Cinnamon Rolls this morning.
Now items you'll need:
~1 recipes of Lion House Roll Dough (if you haven't printed that off you can find it HERE.
~soft butter
~1/4 cup sugar
~1-2 tsp cinnamon
~3 cups powdered sugar
~2 tsp vanilla
~1/3 cup of half and half

Prepare one recipe of the Lion House roll dough and allow rising until double. Sprinkle flour on work area, place dough on flour and roll out to 12" x8" rectangle. Spread with soft butter. Sprinkle with mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and 1-2 tsp cinnamon (depending on your taste), and roll up like a jelly roll.
Slice into one-inch slices and place on a well-greased pan with space between so they can rise. Allow to rise until double in size and bake in a 375 degree oven for 10-15 minutes, or until light golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow cooling.
Combine 3 cups of powered sugar, 2 tsp vanilla and 1/3 cup half and half, cream, evaporated, or regular milk. Mix until smooth.
Gently spread frosting on the rolls with your hand or drizzle on with a spoon. Allow to cool slightly.
Have a great day!!

April VT Message- Personal Revelation

Hello to all! I'm back and ready to use my Photoshop and get back to giving stuff to you all! My bathroom is almost complete all that's left is the drywall, and the stuff to go around the bathtub (I'll take pictures when it's all done) but for now it is usable and we moved back in today. We also had a ward party tonight. It was fun with only the few people that came (if you are in my ward and reading this and came thank you so much for your support!) There was an egg toss and bean bag toss, a little potting activity, dinner and dessert (which was a kick!-dirt cups!)
So for my first "I'm back" project is the April Visiting Teaching handout. I completely spaced oops! Thanks for you patience!

My father-in-law is letting me borrow this book, and surprisingly it goes right along with this month's VT message (I borrowed the book a few days ago and only today looked at the message) COOL. The quote for the handout is actually found in this book. I'm only a little bit into it but it is a great resource and thought-provoking book.

Old Testament Books Memory Cards

Hi guys, sorry for my absence it has been a crazy couple of days. The renovation for my bathrooms is being pushed back until Saturday so yippee for that. And I've been like a chicken with its head cut off with getting everything ready to go back to school the beginning of May (I'm planning on majoring in graphic design- so I'm thinking that you will be my guinea pigs for my projects! I'll be taking 12.5 credit hours for summer a couple generals (blast those transfers) and a few classes for my major.
So today I have for you the Old Testament books to help your kiddos memorize the books of the Old Testament (I think there's a song too, I keep singing it when I think of the Old Testament). I've made BOM ones too so find those in the labels.
I would suggest laminating these so there are destroyed when they come off the printer!

He Passed Beneath All Things

Hello, sorry for my absence you guys! With Easter and spending time with family all weekend I've just been really tired and didn't have any juices flowing. How was Conference for everyone? Lot of "parent" talks I'm excited to study them again and pick them apart to help me, since my son didn't come with a manual.
Today's posts will probably be the last for a few days, our bathrooms are going to be ripped apart, pipes replaced, new fixtures, the works, so we're going to be staying at the in-laws tomorrow until probably Monday, I'll try and post on occasion, but don't expect any. So today I'm cranking out, lesson helps and extra tidbits.

This quote is from the talk given by President Monson during the Sunday morning session.
If you want to watch his talk, click HERE (click on the Sunday AM, then scroll to his talk)
- Text of the conference talks will be available on Thursday.
When I heard him say that, I literally jumped from the couch and grabbed the first piece of paper. So here it is.

Book of Mormon Memory Cards

I don't know what you would call these, so if you have an idea let me know! I am going to make some up for the New Testament and Old Testament too so look out for those. I made them for the purpose of helping kids memorize the books (in order) in the Book of Mormon. For that sake I'm calling them memory cards. Anyhoo, hope you like them. They are small so they woudl be great to put in that Sacrament Helper bag or just at home (they are all 2x3). I would suggest laminating them first so that they aren't destroyed in the first 10 minutes of use. There are 2 links so make sure to grab both. Have fun watching Conference!
Here's a couple links for Conference:

And the new beta page, just click on the "sessions" at the top and you should be able to get a video stream.
