May Sharing Time WK 3

I can't wait for this week! As soon as I had seen the theme for this week, I immediately was taken to Elder Packer's talk about spiritual crocodiles, read the talk HERE.

All you need for this lesson are the printouts and sticky darts/nerf gun. My Primary kids are going to LOVE this even those older boys!

May Sharing Time WK 1

Materials Needed:
-Printouts
-Bingo Markers (candy, beans, plastic chips, etc)
-Small prizes/stickers

Lesson:
What is a prophet?

A prophet is a man called by God to speak on His behalf here on earth. He is a special witness of Christ and testifies of Jesus Christ and teaches His gospel. He receives direction and revelation from Jesus Christ for us.
A prophet can be young or old, a doctor or a teacher, rich or poor, the most important is that he is called by God.

Since the restoration of the gospel, we have had 16 prophets from Joseph Smith to Thomas S. Monson.
We can also find prophets in the scriptures: King Benjamin, Noah, Adam, Nephi

Using the names, cut them out and see if the kids can match up the names to the prophet (key included in the download), then keeping the big poster on the board, take off the names and "draw" out the names to see if the kids can remember who was who and try and get a bingo. You can make it more fun by adding in the teachers and do teams, teachers vs kids.

I came across a fun bingo game with the latter-day prophets that I thought would be fun but I wanted to make the "reference" card big to be able to fit onto the board in front so I enlarged the prophets art from lds.about.com and made it BIG (27 x 30 inches!!)

You can go HERE to download the bingo cards to handout to the kids.
