June Sharing Time WK 2

This week is my week to teach and I seriously can't wait to teach this lesson!

You'll need:
Mailing box
Items to "ship"
Picture of a temple(s)

Lesson:
Temples are sacred places.
What does sacred mean? Temples are special places where everything is a reminder of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and teaches us of why we are here on the Earth.
What are some things that we know that happens in temples?
In temples we make promises to Heavenly Father, in temples we do work for the dead, like baptisms. We can be married in the temple. What happens when we are married in the temple? (we are sealed for eternity- we can be with our families even after we die) In the temple, we wear white clothing to remind us to be clean and pure and to choose the right, we are also very reverent and when we talk we speak in whispers. It is in the temple that we can feel peace and feel closer to Heavenly Father.

Show the kids the mailing box. This box when sent in the mail is tossed around and banged and maybe lands on the floor a few times before getting to it's final stop. Put items into the box and toss it around to the teachers so items fall out. Ask the kids "what does this box need so the stuff doesn't fall out?" (Tape)
What will the tape do? (Seals the box) Seal the box up and toss a couple times.
This is much like our families.... we come to Earth and to learn and grow in families to get to our final stop to live with Heavenly Father again. But if we aren't sealed just like the box, to our families, we won't be able to live with our families for eternity.
When we are sealed to our families even after we die, our families will still be together, through the sealing power that a special priesthood holder has.

Thank you so much for stopping by, for the pins and repins, for the comments, for the purchasing on Etsy. This blog has helped me find who I am, my family and my talents. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me latterdaychatter@hotmail.com
