I can't believe that I have to post about this again but... PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE DOWNLOAD LINKS WITH THE PREVIEWS ON YOUR BLOGS OR CLAIM MY PROJECTS AS YOUR OWN!!!! I work very hard on everything I give on my blog for FREE, and I love doing it as it's my "me" time. It just hurts to see something that you've worked hard on to be taken and claimed. I pay for kits to use for these projects and I pay for the 4shared to be instant along with spending countless hours after my boys are in bed or my oldest is in preschool to work on projects and lesson handouts. PLEASE DON'T TAKE THINGS!!!

Also I've received some email saying how I'm not keeping up with the lessons and I need to work faster. For those of you... my family is the most important thing to me, I only do the blog when I have "me" time and I spend time on each project. I am sorry that I don't work at your pace, but that's life and if you're going to be so demanding of projects please leave, I don't need to read insults about what I'm NOT doing.

For those of you that have been with me for a long time, THANK YOU for your loyalty in coming back and supporting me and my family. For all you newbies, WELCOME! and thank you so much for your comments and questions.

Again, life is happening and I want to live it while it is, and my family is more important than this blog, so please don't make me feel bad about not getting out lessons or not getting more Sunday Box stuff out, I will, I promise, but for now please stick with me through this time with my family where we are all very busy with school and life.

Button Board- all you need is cardboard or foam, buttons, a glue gun and yarn!

Education

Play a game of Pictionary using M&M Paint and computer paper. Subjects could be Book of Mormon stories or Primary Songs. Or you could just use Window Paint and a window to play:

Window Paint

-containers for each color

-tempra paints

-dish soap

First start by adding the desired color of paint to the jar.

Now just add a little dish soap.

The more soap you use the thinner the paint will be and the easier it will be to wipe off when it is dry.

We liked a bit more paint then soap since our paints were kind of thin to start with.

I have to apologize for not that many posts the last month or so... we are just so crazy with my hubby's school schedule. I have some fun news as well. I was asked by the stake to help out with a couple assignments and so I'm busy making up flyers and handouts along with ideas for a stake activity. Very time consuming but very rewarding. I'm hoping this month isn't as crazy and I can get some stuff out like I've been wanting to.

I think this would be a fun singing time activity. You could write the names of the songs you want to practice onto a paper plate, then have "teams" or a child come up and try to ring it, if they don't make it that's the song they do, if they do make it onto the ring then they can pick a song. :)

Instead of handing out the papers with the meanings, I'm going to be using this printout and cutting them then putting them around the room for the kids to pick up and read the scripture on the back (my kids are having a hard time bringing their scriptures so I'm going to start printing out the scriptures we are going to read.) then they can match the symbol with the meaning on the board after reading the scripture.

And here's the parts for the cutouts that I"m going to be putting on the wall. It's basically the chart in the lesson I"m going to write meanings on the board and then they'll match it with the symbol. The scriptures are from the chart are all from Nephi.

Eternal Families File Folder Game

I wanted to take a break from doing the Primary 2012 stuff and I had gotten permission to use Allison Kimball's stuff so... I made a fun little file folder game for my son and decided to share!!

PERSONAL USE ONLY!!!!!

Print out each sheet for however many you'll be printing, then glue in the pages without the "names" to a file folder. Laminate or contact paper the folder and the matching cards. Cut out the matching cards around the stitching. And either place velcro or magnets on each card and on the file folder pictures. HAVE FUN!! Don't forget, I LOVE COMMENTS!! :)

I've started on Primary 4 for next year and talked about it with my "kids" and they loved it (even though I'm losing most of them) and I wanted to share with you all the idea. This year(2011) I did the handout with a little activity or "assignment" to do just to get more out of the lessons that you teach. For 2012 I'll be doing the same thing. They will be sized at 3.5x4 and I'm hoping to get way ahead of each lesson to at least get the framework set up in advance. I've made a cover right now but will be getting a lot of the lessons started as well as some time fillers this week :)

I have some exciting news!!! I have now been called as the 9-10 year old teacher in Primary!!! YIPPEE!! I"m in PRIMARY!! I'm just so excited and yesterday was my second time teaching these kids and I noticed that we spend a lot of time looking up the scriptures that we are reading instead of actually reading. So to make my life easier, I made up some scripture reader cards to hand out. I'm going to laminate them for durability and then just use a dry erase marker (or crayon) to write the scripture down then collect them at the end of class. And of course, I'm going to share the spoils :) Hope you find them useful!
All the cards are 3x5. There's a sheet of all 4 or you can download them individually in case one gets destroyed or misplaced.

2012 Sharing Time Cards

I've come up with a way to expand on the weekly sharing time cards and I hope that you guys will love it as much as I love it. So the basic idea is to give each child a big ring at the beginning of the year and each week they will get the new sharing time card (with a hole punched in it) to add to their booklet. So let's just begin... please let me know if there's something confusing or not right as I hope this will be a big part of next year for the Primary.

These are the covers for the booklet:
There's a front and a back, both are sized at 4x4.5 to be just slightly bigger than the "inside" ,I would recommend laminating these as they will more than likely get beat up for the whole year.

Then on the inside for each month there will be a introduction if you will, sized at 3.5x4, each month will be color coordinated (all the Januarys will have blue border, Februarys-red, etc) so just in case they fall off the ring they will easily be able to prevent the crying and an easy put back together:

Then just before the Weekly Sharing Time Cards, put the words the monthly song so they can know what the words are and read them (younger kids may be harder, but I"m sure parents would help them)

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Mine was great and just slow paced with just my little family, skipping the big stuff because of the sickness bug. I'm so excited for Christmas, don't you just love this time of year with the annual trip to Temple Square, putting up the tree, and opening the chocolate box each day for the countdown and Christmas music... Yep I'm excited!!

2012 Birthday

My little family is now over the sicknesses YIPPEE!!! This weekend with my husband off work for the 4 days we are deep cleaning the house and getting all the germs out of this place, I can't wait! HUGE grin on my face.
Here's a birthday or "this is our new theme" idea, I'm sure it would definately be a hit with the younger kids and you could spice it up by adding some "tools" (glitter, sequin beads, cookie cutter, etc) for the older kids. There's a "girl" and a "boy" one (sheet of 8 has both)
The suspense is killing you right... make koolaid playdough kits. You put all the dry ingredients in a ziploc or other baggie, add the recipe mounted on cardstock or construction paper into it then staple the label on and VOILA!!

Oct 2011 Conference: Quentin L. Cook

My little family has come down with some sickness the last week or so and that's where I've been.We've all gotten past our things except my baby, these last few days have been a challenge with my little baby going to the pediatrician and getting a diagnosis of his throwing up to be an ear infection. He's on Pedialyte and lots of sleep and thankfully hasn't had to be admitted to the hospital for dehydration, but that still doesn't take away the emotions that I've had, so before I get to the handout, I just want to say thank you to commenter "Sulane", you truly were my lifter today before I read this talk.
You never really know when your comment can make someone's day just go better, and I love each one so thank you to those that take time to leave your words of love and encouragement to me and my family!
This quote was exactly what I needed right now with my little baby and other family stuff going on, and I've decided after reading this talk to make a point of starting a "gratitude journal" each day and on those inevitable "bad" days I can really see all that I have been given. Please feel free to join me and share, just to share.
Today's Gratitude Pin: I'm grateful to be able to serve, I was able to take a dinner to a good friend who just had her baby. {okay I have 2}I'm also grateful for the power of medicine and how quickly it can help. {okay, 3...} I'm grateful for a husband who notices when I'm stressed and need a breaks and let's me have it.

Welcome to Our Primary

I love it when inspiration just flows don't you? Tonight my wonderful amazing hubby has taken both boys and so I've been busy with my Photoshop and have been working on a few fun things to share with you all in the future. I have finished this though and I wanted to share it.
I made Relief Society welcome packets, but what about the Primary kids, I'm sure without a doubt that kids are more fearful of going to a new ward, whether visiting or new, and so why not give them a little something to help them :) This is meant to be a bag topper so you fold it over a baggie(ziploc or a fancy one) and then staple it to the baggie. My idea for this is to either purchase a box of crayons or you can be fun and awesome and make your own crayons into the round ones or into a fun shape using a candy mold or even make a big rainbow one! There's 2 methods for making your own, baking in the oven and using the stove top. If you want to go a little extra you could also assemble a little coloring book to go with it, LDS coloring pages has FREE pages from the Friend.

**If you would like this with the kids being a different nationality I have a few others that I can easily swap out. Just let me know with a comment! :)

First off, thank you all so much for all your support, I know I have followers for Relief Society and Young Women and Primary, and I really appreciate all you have said and just being here enjoying my makings. With much thought and discussion with my husband and with you guys, I've decided to put the main focus of this blog to the Primary. Now for those of you in RS and YW, don't think that I don't love you or that I think Primary is more important. It's just that my time is limited and for the most part this blog is primarily Primary age anyway. But I will be doing the Conference talk handouts and the Visiting Teaching Message and if you will request a specific Young Women lesson or something in Young Women's I'll be doing that. I can also if you would all like, post up some blogs/websites that do RS and Young Women stuff, there are some amazing women out there who already do so much for the Young Women that I feel sometimes that I'm cramping their style when I could be doing so much more for the Primary (I haven't found a lot of Primary stuff on blogs). Again please feel free to voice your opinion and I'll try my best and hardest to accommodate to all of those wishes.
Now I'm having a dilemma, I'm debating about whether or not to continue with the Primary lessons, since I've missed so many lessons, for this year or just get a head start on next year's lessons. What do you think?
A binder cover(s) for the overall year is currently in the making. I've been working on them for about 2 days now and hope to get those out to you tomorrow or Thursday.
I will be also making posters or binder covers for each month, I haven't started on those but all 12 will be avaialble for download before the new year as I know that some of you like to have them to post out on the Primary board.
I will also be making assignment bands like I did this year, please let me know if there are any alterations or add-ons you would like to see for those. Or I will just make them like I did this year.
Thanks to Lorraine P. who gave the suggestion to do weekly sharing time cards! Those based on popular demand will also be coming back.
And the lessons from both manuals will be in the same format of teaching and reminding. Like this year, the goal for them is to be put onto a ring or in a photo album (or whatever you choose) and then the kids will have something to look at and remember what is/has been taught in class.
If you have a request or something you've seen on other blogs that you would liek to see here for next year please comment/email/ or post on FB and I'll do the best that I can, but as most of you may know I have 2 little boys to attend to and and a busy hubby in school and work, so please be patient and I'll do the best I can! Activity Bag Swap

I think I might officially be crazy, but it's something that I've been wanting to do for a long time and I just can't find one so I'm going to start one! Have you heard of an activity bag? If not, they are basically activities in a bag that require little to no help from you to operate. They could be any theme and are great for all ages as you can always have something fun to grab and throw into a backpack or diaper bag. If you are interested in doing a swap with me, I'm looking for gals to join in the fun for either swap found on my kid activities blog, Frogs in My Pockets. It'll be interesting the first time and may not run as scheduled, but with the help of some friends I think I have all the rules hammered out. Thanks!!!

Nauvoo Store

Good morning to you all! A while ago I was asked by the Nauvoo Store to do a review for one of their products. I jumped at the chance and I'm so glad I did!
My package arrived and I was just tickled pink to get my new journal, if I wasn't going to keep it it would have made a beautiful gift for someone else. It has a soft leather texture to it and I'm sure a herd of elephants could run over it and it wouldn't fall apart. The one that I got is a smaller size so it fits perfectly into my purse or the diaper bag. Some days I must admit, it becomes more of a note taking book than a journal but hey to each his own right. There is one thing that would have made it a little better and that lines on the pages, which isn't a huge deal but I hate how as I write it starts going up the page or down the page but other than that it's a beautiful piece that will withstand the ages and not fall apart, like I said elephants could stomp on it and it wouldn't fall apart.
Now, the Nauvoo Store does have more than just journals, some of my favorites are the puzzles (my grandma LOVES puzzles), the Young Women charms, and their temple prints. It seems that more of their products are more vintage and rustic but you can see the quality. And with Christmas coming around the corner, I'm thinking of a puzzle for my grandma or maybe a journal, and for a family gift a temple print, they don't have the Ogden but it's what the temple represents right?

Conference Helps and Linky Party!!

General Conference is just a short week away and I'm just so excited for it's arrival! So in preparation I thought I would compile a list of ideas that are around the internet and on Latter-day Chatter to help you listen by helping your kiddos listen :) I'll be posting new ideas as I find them or think of them! Conference Wall (I love this idea, I saw this last year and it worked wonderfully!! For my little guy and for me!!)
Tent toward the Temple - you could use an actual tent or build a fort using blankets, sheets, chairs, etc
From Pinterest:
Conference Listening Kit (PERFECT for VT gals!)
Conference Baggies(an activity or snack for each speaker LOVE)
Some ideas:
-watercolors- have the kids paint a pictures of what the speaker is talking about
-puzzles - go to the distribution center and get a Gospel Art Book and turn some pages into puzzles!! :)
Conference Treat Buckets (gets some exercise and listening!! LOVE!) You could easily do this with anything - pennies, marbles, cherrios, dinosaurs, beans, etc
Love her "don't open until.." idea and the stick and glue bingo!

Ideas for Gift Baskets:
-small cans of pringles
-kleenex
-small notebook
-activity packets for sisters that have children
-a sponge with saying "soak it all in!"
-put everything into a waste basket with a saying like "don't let one minute of Conference go to waste" (Pinterest)
-air popped popcorn YUM!!
-juice boxes or the person's favorite drink
-paper dolls (Red Headed Hostess and some AWESOME Book of Mormon ones)

In-between Conference Ideas:
- go to the park and have a picnic
- have a marshmallow fight in your yard to get all the wiggles out
- have a fishing game to review what each speaker was about (printable to come this week!!! :)
-make some cookies to take to someone in your neighborhood

Forget Me Not

Were you able to watch the General Relief Society Meeting yesterday? If not, neither could I. I had family in town for my little baby's blessing and so instead we were playing games and spending time together, but today I watched it and am so grateful for President Uchtdorf and the words that he spoke. They were for me I just know it. I wanted to make myself a little reminder of one of my favorite parts of his talk to keep with me and put on my mirror and of course I'm giving you the download also. If you missed the talk PLEASE go and listen or watch it, it was an amazing talk from an apostle of God.

Baptism Puzzles

My goal with the Primary handouts is to help the kids to remember what they've learned so I've decided to take that another step with puzzles that could be used for home use or to put into your Sunday bag. My New Bundle

Hello all!!! As you may have guessed, another darling little boy has come to my little family!
Thank you so much for all your love and emails!!! Who knew that having cyber friends could be so much fun!
With just a few complications, we delivered c-section, so my recovery has been slow, but with the most amazing family and friends, middle of the night feedings, a growing little baby, and a helpful 3 year old, my life can't be anymore joyful!
I hope to be back soon with the new 2012 stuff and continue with the sharing time cards for the remainder of the year.

The idea behind this little activity is to get your family to do small acts of service without being asked. So find a bit of a wall or a sliding door and post up the poster (8.5x11) and print off a bunch of the cards (Just realized the typo SORRY!) and put a couple pens with them. When one of your kids have noticed some good deed happen to them (brother gave me a Reese's, helped me with homework, played barbies with me, etc) then they write it on one of the cards and post it around the poster. Then when you read them you can go reward the kid that did the good deed with a good deed coupon (don't worry I'll be making more -there's 2 available now)

You know those days when you should be getting started on laundry or dishes or cleaning up your craft room, but you just don't want to, so you spend time on Pinterest and you're stuck!!! Well that's me!! They should seriously start a Pinterest's Anonymous!! Here's a little something I found today and I wanted to share, it would make a perfect little gift idea for practically anyone. You could do it for your Visiting Teaching sisters, the young women, or even activity days and I'm sure boys would a love it too without the girlie papers :) Just fill it up with a bunch of goodies and there you have it!!
Go HERE for the free pattern and from another blog for the easiest instructions: just print the largest size cake slice (bottom slice) onto the back of your pattern paper, and then cut and score and fill.

Endless possibilities with this!!

Relief Society Welcome Packet

I made one of these about a year ago and I have no idea what happened to it. So I decided to whip up another one, because it's just so helpful when you have something to give to a new member of the ward so they don't feel so out of place. There's 4 pages in all sized at 5x7.

After working on the lesson for Primary 7, I thought a little game would be fun. So I whipped one up. I think that it could also be used for a FHE lesson or something. (Please don't forget that it was meant as a portion of a Primary lesson)

Use a die to see where you land.
You could also make up more "service" ideas to pose to the kids if you have more than a few and you play it more than once.
There's aren't markers for this, but you could use lots of different things.
- different colored buttons
- colors little pinto beans or something
- use markers from a different game (Trouble, Monopoly, etc)
