He Sent His Son: the story of Easter -a small coloring book of the last week of Christ's life
Easter Week: a description of Christ's last week and what happened each day.

Christ was laid to rest in Joseph's tomb until Sunday morning. Two angels came Sunday morning and rolled the stone away from the entrance. A woman named Mary Magdalene came to the tomb, she came with spices and ointments to finish the preparation of Christ's body and saw that the stone wasn't covering the entrance and that Christ's body was no longer there.

Mary ran and told Peter and John that Christ's body had been stolen. The two apostles ran to the tomb to find it empty and the clothes that Christ has been buried in were there, they didn't know what to do and went home. Mary Magdalene stayed at the tomb, crying, she looked in the tomb again and there she saw two angels. They asked her why she was crying, she answered saying that someone had taken Jesus' body and she didn't know where it was. She then turned and there stood a man, He asked why she was crying and she asked him if he knew where the body was. The man said, "Mary", she knew then that it was Jesus Christ. He told her that she couldn't touch Him because He hadn't gone yet to Heavenly Father. Jesus then asked Mary to tell the apostles that He was resurrected. Mary and other women went to tell the apostles but they didn't believe them. Later on, the apostles were talking and Jesus came into the room, but they were afraid because they thought Jesus was still dead.

Resurrected Jesus with the apostles

Jesus told the apostles to touch His hands and feet. He truly had been resurrected, His body and His spirit joined together again. His visit to the apostles is important because He told them to touch Him so that they might know that He had risen and that they could a witness of His literal Resurrection.
Jesus Christ stayed with the apostles for 40 days teaching them. He told them that they needed to go and teach the gospel to all people, He said that He would have to leave soon but that the Holy Ghost would help them. He then ascended into the heavens, two angels told the apostles that Jesus Christ would come back again some day.
The apostle Peter then became the president of the Church with James and John as His counselors. They would now become the leaders of Jesus Christ's Church.

Primary 7, Lesson 32: The Crucifixion and Burial of Jesus Christ

He willingly gave his life so every person who has ever lived, or will ever live, will live again because of his great love for us.
Physical death is part of Heavenly Father’s plan and that Heavenly Father, in His great mercy, sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to overcome death. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, we have all been rescued from physical death. We will die, but we will be resurrected.

Before Christ was put on the cross, the soldiers whipped Jesus. They put a purple robe on Him and a crown of thorns and called him the King of the Jews. But they did this all to mock and make fun of Jesus. The soldiers took Jesus to a hill and a man named Simon of Cyrene carried His cross. They then nailed His hands and feet to the cross and lifted it up. Jesus then prayed and asked Heavenly Father to forgive the soldiers because they didn't know that He was the Savior. Jesus asked the Apostle John to take care of His mother, Mary. Christ suffered on the cross for many hours and darkness came over the land. And after much suffering Jesus' spirit left His body and He died. After He died, the Roman soldiers threw a spear at His side, they were scared because it was dark and an earthquake came and broke big rocks, a veil in the temple also tore in two, they then said, "Truly, this is the Son of God."

One of Jesus' disciples named Joseph begged Pilate for Jesus' body and he wrapped Jesus' body in a white cloth and placed him inside of his tomb. Joseph then rolled a big rock in front of the tomb and left.

Primary 7, Lesson 31: Jesus Christ’s Betrayal, Arrest, and Trial

Jesus being condemned by Pontius Pilate

This lesson spans two Bible Videos:

Jesus in Caiaphas' palace

Judas Iscariot was paid to show them where Jesus was (He was in the Garden). The wicked men and Judas went to the Garden, Judas then kissed Jesus to show the men who Jesus was. They then led Jesus away to take him to the Jewish high priest Caiaphas, along the way the men hit and mocked Jesus. The leaders asked questions and they said that Jesus had broken the law by saying that He was the Son of God. They sentenced him to die; however, they didn't the authority to sentence Jesus to die so they took him to Pontius Pilate. The leaders told Pilate that Jesus taught the people to go against the laws but Pilate didn't think that Jesus did anything wrong and wanted to let Jesus go. The people and the priests wanted to crucify Jesus, Pilate then washed his hands saying that he wouldn't be responsible for Jesus' death and then told the soldiers to crucify Jesus.

Miracles come to those who have faith {Sharing Time}

One of my favorite stories is of Moses leading the Israelites. So when the outline suggested using this miraculous story I just had to use it!

Below is included in the game.
Moses was told by Jesus to lead the Israelites from Egypt to the promised land. He and his brother Aaron went to the king of Egypt and asked to let the Israelites go, but the king said no.
Jesus helped Moses by showing the king His power.
1, the water was changed to blood, the fish died and the people couldn't drink the water. Still the king didn't let the Israelites go.
2 Jesus sent frogs to the Egyptians, they were everywhere. The king said that if the frogs went away he would let the people go. The frogs died but the king lied and still the Israelites couldn't leave.
3 Lice was sent to infest the people, but still the Israelites weren't let go.
4 Next came flies to all the Egyptians, the king said he'd let the people go but he lied again!
5 The Egyptian's livestock began dying, still the Israelites couldn't leave.
6 Next the Egyptians began getting sores (called boils) all over their bodies.
7 A really bad hail storm came next, during this storm the people who were outside died. The king then said they could go. Moses prayed and the storm stopped but the king lied again.
8 Grasshoppers came and ate the Egyptian's crops and fruit.

Now the Egyptians have no fish (from the river turning to blood), their animals have died so they have no meet. And now their grains, fruit, and other food is now gone. But still the king wouldn't let the Israelites leave.

9 Darkness came to the Egyptians, they couldn't even light a lamp/candle in their houses. This darkness lasted for 3 days.
10 Jesus told Moses that He would send a sickness. In every Egyptian family, the oldest child would die, including the king's son. Jesus told Moses that if the Israelites would kill a perfect lamb and put it's blood on their door frame the sickness would pass their house and their family would be safe.
The king's son died, and the king was afraid that everyone in Egypt would die, he told Moses and Aaron to leave with the Israelites.

As the Israelites were leaving, the king still wanted them as slaves so he took his army and chased after them. When the Israelites got to the Red Sea, they were scared because they could see the army coming and thought they would be killed. Moses told them that Jesus would help them. He was told to raise his hand over the sea and a wind divided the sea and the Israelites were able to cross on dry land.
Moses then raised his hand again and the sea came back together and the army that was following them died in the sea.

What can you do:
You can play a matching game and have the kids read the scriptures and put the plagues in order with the numbers and the plagues.

You can hide the plagues and do a search for the miracles that happened to Moses and his people.

2016 Yearly Poster

I AM IN LOVE! And I can't wait to really get back into the swing of things. I feel like I've done 2015 an injustice between being pregnant and have a new baby, so I hope I can do some fun things with this new theme!

Scripture Princesses Blog Tour AND {Giveaway!!}

Today (I'm a day late, I'm sorry!!) I'd like to share with you an amazing addition to your home library! The Scripture Princesses is all about women in the scriptures. Those beloved women like Esther, Ruth and Naomi as well as some of those women that are just as amazing but not as well known like Miriam.
This book is very well researched and written with beautiful illustrations that are perfect for young kids and each chapter is just the right length to read each night. Just long enough to learn more  (oh AND Rebecca has even put the scripture reference at the top of each chapter!) and short enough to keep kids' attention.
Here's some more reasons I LOVE this book!
Each chapter is in order of history, these were real women who really lived and having them in chronological order is just helpful. It starts with Eve and goes to Emma Hales Smith.
Each chapter is like I said short enough to read with kids but long enough that you feel you could be their friends.
I also love that there are scripture references, LOVE LOVE LOVE... Now I can easily go to the scriptures to read from the scriptures about these women.

The author has also created coloring pages and a DARLING free tiara printable to go along with the book as well! She has also created beautiful memes!!

Rebecca has also decided to give away one of these books!! Leave a comment below on who your favorite woman from the scriptures is! Another entry can be made on FB by commenting on why she's your favorite! Giveaway will end in one week (August 27th at 12pm MST)
Thank you Rebecca for such a wonderful book to add to our library!

Jesus Christ has power over death {August Sharing Time WK 3}

I have been struggling with this lesson and have been thinking about it for the last week or so wanting to do this beautiful lesson justice while still bringing to a level that the kids will understand. Today my son brought me a handful of dandelions from the park, what a sweet thing, we got home and I told out my sad wilted dandelions from the diaper bag and LIGHT went off! I had my idea!

Sheena over at LDS Ideas did the same thing! So we've teamed up and you can pick up a printable here and go and get instructions over on her blog!

Just some notes for you!
For the Raising of Lazarus, here's a thing from the manual about this that will help the kids really see how this was a miracle. Lazarus hadn't just died, he had been dead for 4 days (John 11:17)! It was Jewish custom for friends to mourn with the family for several days after death. Many people were there was Christ performed this great miracle,

Primary 7, Lesson 30

Here's the Bible Video for the Garden of Gethsemane, this is 8 minutes long but well worth it!

(includes all pages from below)

I love this analogy for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. You could easily bring donuts for the class and have one of the boys do this.

This is a short story from a long time ago but I love it as it's a perfect modern example of why the Atonement was and is necessary.

Primary 3, Lesson 31

Object Lesson:

Using travel size toothpaste, have the children squeeze out the toothpaste onto paper plates. Then ask them to put it back into the tube. This isn't possible.... This is much like our words and what we say. Once we say something we can't take it back. We can apologize but the mean things that we say can't be taken back and we hurt our friends.

Here's a game to play!
