{CTR} Primary 2, Lesson 21

For this week, I thought it would be fun to have two very different extremes in pictures and have the kids point out the differences. I've used a playground and a congregation during sacrament (printouts available in the download)

Ask questions to get them talking about the pictures.
What can we do when we are at the park? How can we act at the park?
What happens at church? How should we act at church?
What differences do you see in these pictures?

Possible comparisons:

Playground:
-outside
-dressed in play clothes
-running
-talking loud

Sacrament:
-inside
dressed in Sunday clothes
- use our quiet voices

If/when a child mentions at Sacrament we try to be reverent. Ask what that means.

Here's another idea from the Friend!
Bring in a hand puppet and begin doing some things with the puppet that might not be very reverent.
I really love this article and do this when my own boys need a little reminder.

Included in the download:
-The Playground/Sacrament illustrations
- Reverence handout

Here's a fun, large maze to teach about Reverence

I really enjoyed these talks/articles about reverence:

March Sharing Time WK 4

This month has been so hard to create "fun" games with just such an important topic as the Savior. But for this week, I wanted to still keep the topic of Christ as the key to this lesson. By keeping this simple, you'll be using a maze and the letters in the word REVERENCE to complete a puzzle that is spread out around the room. The purchase includes sample questions that you can attach to the puzzle pieces or just keep and read aloud.

To involve the kids more, you could use colored chalk and let the kids try and get to the next letter.

(If you would like a "key" please email latterdaychatter@hotmail.com)  I didn't include one because by following the letters you'll get to the finish.

$2.00 USD

Thank you so much for stopping by, for the pins and repins, for the comments, for the purchasing on Etsy. This blog has helped me find who I am, help my family and enhance my talents. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me latterdaychatter@hotmail.com

Reverence: Hatched Eggs

How to use:
Print out the eggs and laminate for extended use. The eggs are a decent size and are big enough for the Sunbeams to use.
Tell the Sunbeams that through Sharing Time/Singing Time that they need to keep their eggs warm so that they can hatch a little bird afterwards.
The Birds are stickers and will fit onto the Avery template for the sticker paper (you don't need to download anything, just print as an 8.5x11 page onto the sticker paper) I used a circle punch (1 inch and 2 inches) to cut the character stickers out.

Reverent Mouse

Here's another reverence idea for all you Primary goers! Meet Reverent Mouse, pass them out to the kids as you are greeting them (if you aren't greeting them now, get there so you can, they'll love you for it!) to the ones that are being reverent. Attached a little thank you, like a sticker, or a number (to help during Primary), or maybe a small piece of candy, or just a thank you note, possibiliites are endless.

Trying to be like Jesus bookmarks

Hope everyone's was a wonderful one! And a Happy Valentine's to you all!
This week I'm going to be doing requests, for any calling, or anything at home :) So if you have something, you'd like to see, please comment below or send me an email at latterdaychatter@yahoo.com.
This is a request from Randi P. for Reverence Ideas for Primary, so this week I'm going to be pulling down my dusty Primary binder from the shelf and digging for the ideas from when I taught in Primary :)
You can go HERE to download these bookmarks, that would make great little prizes, gifts, or just because :)
There's a front and a back.
