{Sharing Time} Jesus Christ taught us how to serve others

Here's the Bible Video of the Good Samaritan

Jesus taught us in parables, one parable is the parable of the Good Samaritan.

A man was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. Thieves were known to hide behind the big rocks along the steep pathway. The Jewish man was attacked by thieves and was left very hurt and with nothing, only to die. As the man was on the side of the road, a Jewish priest came by but he didn't stop and kept going. A Jewish Levite came but he just crossed the road to the other side and kept going. Both the priest and the Levite were men who served in the temple, they were suppose to be examples of righteousness.
Last a men from Samaria saw the beaten man, he stopped and washed the man's wounds, then put him onto his donkey and went to an inn so the Jewish man could rest and get food. The Samaritan man gave the innkeeper money to take care of the beaten man.

The Samaritans and the Jews weren't friends, they worshipped a little differently from the Jews and the Jews thought that they were better than the Samaritans. So for a Samaritan to stop and help a Jew is a really good example of what we can do for those that may not be as nice to us.

For this game, you'll need scratch off stickers for the game board to find the Good Samaritan and good acts to do. You can purchase scratch off stickers! (I haven't been able to find any that are big enough to cover these squares. The squares on the game are a little over 2 inches so stickers should be about that size  you can make your own!

Each character on the board (11 in all) represents something about service, whether it's about themselves doing service, receiving service, and also some scenarios to share! The board when assembled is about 18x20 inches.

If you want to just retell the story using the jumbo cutouts, you can find them below on sale!!

Primary 7, Lesson 42

LDS.org Primary 7, Lesson 42: The Conversion of Saul

(included in the download)
Saul was a man who was very critical of the Church and would persecute the members of the Church, sometimes putting them in prison.
One day Saul and some others were on their way to Damascus to put some of the disciples in prison. Then a great light surrounded Saul and he fell to the ground. Saul heard the voice of Jesus Christ asking him why he was persecuting the members of the Church. Saul asked Jesus what Jesus wanted him to do and was told to continue to Damascus and he would be told what to do.
As Saul got up, he became blind. The others with him helped him into Damascus. Saul was blind for 3 days, during that time he didn't eat or drink.

A Church leader in Damascus was named Ananias. Ananias had a vision and he was told to go find Saul. Ananias was scared to go find Saul because he knew that he could be put in prison. But the Lord told him to go because He had a mission for Saul. When he found Saul, using the priesthood, Ananias blessed Saul and Saul's sight returned. Saul was then baptized and changed his name to Paul. Paul was called to be an Apostle, he became a missionary and taught the gospel to many people.

Here's a Bible Video about Saul on the Road to Damascus.

Primary 7, Lesson 40

LDS.ORG Primary 7, Lesson 40: Peter and Cornelius

I LOVE Elder Hunter's quote (#3 in enrichment activities) and couldn't help but think of these paper dolls from the Friend! And how you can use them to help the kids to understand that all children around the world are the same, Heavenly Father loves them and wants them to learn about the Gospel, He hears their prayers.

There's one from each month and you can download them here:

 (included in the download)
Cornelius was a Roman centurion. He was a devout, God-fearing man. An  angel appeared to him and told him to go get the apostle Peter. Peter had a vision that had the meaning that it was time that the gospel be taught the gospel without having first to convert to Judaism. At this time, the gospel was only being taught to the Jews, this was the first time that the gospel will be taught to the Gentiles.
(Peter was the head of the Church at this time, he held all the keys for the Church)
During this time, Cornelius had fasted and prayed for 4 days to know God’s will. The angel promised him that Peter held the answers.
Heavenly Father is teaching us that He “is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34) Every person can have the opportunity to hear the gospel. Peter taught and testified of Christ’s life and mission. The Holy Ghost testified to
Cornelius that what Peter was teaching was true. Cornelius was baptized. This became a huge step in the Church beginning to teach ALL people.
