I've put together a fun simple game to get kids talking about ways to honor parents. Create a puzzle with the house or bring out those sticky hands that kids just can't get enough of and stick them around the house as you learn.

September Sharing Time Week 2
For me, this week is about how we can show respect and worship God. This is done through reverence and I read THIS about reverence and I just love that we show reverence in basically everything that we do. We really have many opportunities in our day to show respect towards our Heavenly Father.
What do these commandments tell us?
1) Thou shalt have no other gods before me -- this means that we to only worship Heavenly Father
2) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image -- this means that we must love Heavenly Father more than anything else that we have, like toys or video games
3) Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain -- this means that Heavenly Father is a special person to us and we show respect to Him by only using His name when we are at church, at the temple, asking a question, or saying prayers. (Be sensitive with this one, family members may not follow this and the children might hear it often.)
4) Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy -- this means that Sundays are the Lord's day, we go to church, spend time with our families and do activities that we wouldn't do on the other days. (This is also a sensitive one, as it is a personal decision for each family. For example, some families may feel it's okay to play outside with family and others may not)
I was hoping to have more for you, but this week escaped me. I hope you can still use this fun cut/paste activity. To supplement this, check out Little LDS Ideas post for this week, it looks fun and easy to put together!

September Sharing Time Week 1
Summer is over and kiddos are back in school so I am hoping that even with our little newborn and me going to school that I'll be able to get back into the swing of things!
For this week's activity, I thought about this talk from a couple years ago by Elder Keetch. He gave an analogy about the need for commandments and sharks out past the bay that he couldn't see at first until he was given a pair of binoculars and finally saw them. (Recommend this talk, it's amazing and I love it!)
This game was SO much fun to create and play! This game is like Minesweeper, Connect 4, and with a little bit of trivia mixed in. Let's just say, be ready to laminate and add it to your Sunday Box!
* The circles to cut out are 2.5 inches, if you'd like to pull out your circle punch.
Reveal a number, gives a clue for how many sharks! Reveal a Q and get a question about commandments. Add a challenge and try to get a 4 in a row!

{Valiant} Primary 4, Lesson 15
LDS.org Primary 4, Lesson 15: Alma and Amulek's Mission to Ammonihah
When we respond quickly to the word of the Lord, He helps us obey His commandments. Alma called the people to repentance and taught them of the need to prepare for the Savior’s coming. From Amulek’s experience with an angel, we learn that when we hear and obey the Lord’s call, blessings come to us and to others.

Use these Jumbo Cut-outs to share the story of Alma and Amulek's mission.
(Note this set also includes characters for next week's lesson, 4-16)

I show love for Jesus Christ when I keep the commandments {Sharing Time}
As I was thinking of ideas for this week, my boys were playing with a couple boats making them crash together and shooting--because they're pirate ships, didn't you know!-- And I remembered this article from President Monson and loved the analogy. So.. here you go!!
Print out the supplies for a boating trip. DOWNLOAD at bottom of post! (Lesson/description below included in download)
Why does Heavenly Father give us commandments? Because He loves us and wants to help us make good choices so that we can receive blessings. Today it might be harder to make good choices because many bad things are disguised as good things. President Monson has reminded us what we can do,
"The Lord has prepared us. If we heed His words and live the commandments, we will survive this time of wickedness --- a time which can be compared with the waves and the winds and the floods that can destroy. He is ever mindful of us. He loves us and will bless us as we do what is right."
Today we are going to go on a boat trip to keep the commandments. What sort of things can you find on the boat and to keep you safe? There's also something on land but is very helpful to see if you're coming into the harbor safely (lighthouse).
Then discuss and compare each of the cut-outs with what they represent. Have kids come pick one, or you can also easily hide them in cute sailor hats (DLTK-Kids).
- Safety ring- Parents/family/teachers
- Compass - Scriptures
- Steering Wheel or an Oar - Prayer
- Lighthouse- Prophet and Apostles
- Waves - Satan and temptations
-Anchor- Jesus Christ
- Sturdy boat/ship - Faith
Here's a coloring page from the Friend to go along with the boat idea.

February WK 4 Sharing Time
So for this week, materials you'll need are:
2 small puzzles -12-35 pieces - the dollar store is a great place to look. If you don't want to do 2 puzzles you could do one large puzzle especially if you have a large Primary and have the outer edge already made and glued to a posterboard.
Glue
Printout
Scissors
Exacto Knife
Make the puzzles once you're done you'll be cutting and gluing the printout to the back with the text facing you. You could also easily modge podge it to the puzzle for lasting durability. If you don't want to spend the extra money you can make your own modge podge. Let that dry over night, once you have it dried, using the exacto knife (or similar) and cut off the pieces.
You could also make a puzzle backwards, with a few pieces pieces and then explaining a little bit more. So glue the printout onto a paper/posterboard (if you need a bigger size let me know-latterdaychatter@hotmail.com) then hang the puzzle up. You could do a google search for a paper puzzle instead of an actual puzzle for this one. Then as the kids take the puzzle pieces down they'll be uncovering the printout.
Now on Sunday, you'll be leaving a few pieces out of each puzzle, this part is important to the lesson. You'll separate the kids however you wish, soon enough the kids will figure out that there's a few pieces missing. You will begin talking about how we have to keep all the commandments to return to live with Heavenly Father, we can't have a few pieces missing. All the commandments have to be obeyed. Without them all we won't have the full picture.
We must always strive to live by the Lord's commandments, sometimes commandments can be hard to obey, how can we receive help in obeying the commandments (the Holy Ghost)? How do you feel when you have obeyed the commandments?
(You could also make up scenarios and go from there) If you're doing the paper puzzle you could also write up scenarios on the pieces and as the kids pick them you can go over that scenario.
Please take a minute to share a comment, I love reading them! They keep making me want to give FREEBIES! It's always wonderful to know that what you are putting up and writing about is worthwhile and people enjoy them. Questions? September Sharing Time WK 1
LDS.org September Sharing Time WK 1 - We are blessed when we keep the commandments
Every time I read this lesson, I kept thinking about a Mormon ad where a cockroach is in a cake or some other type of dessert. And I thought wouldn't it be fun to build your own cupcake as you share the commandments that we have been given, that we are blessed when we obey the commandments.
And as we "build" our lives around the gospel and obey the commandments the happier we will be because we have made good choices. And of course where would we be without printables?
I've had these two goodies downloaded for some time now, my son LOVES paper piecing. Both are freebies however this one from Money Saving Mom is not in color, so you'd have to either color them, have your kids color them quickly before church or just leave it.
Or there's this AWESOME one from Vol. 25, this in full color; however, prints out just a bit smaller than other one.
To make it easy, you could also write on the pieces of cupcakes, the "good choices" in obeying the commandments are
And you'll need some bugs of course. (download below) with some of the "bad choices".
Have all the pieces lying face down on a table or up on the board and let kids start picking some out, when a bug gets picked. Ask the kids how they woudl like to eat a yummy cupcake with bugs in it? Not good, and that's how we feel when we make bad choices we feel bad. But if we are able to partake of the blessings of the good choices and trust in Heavenly Father, we will receive many more blessed and be happy.
Not tickling your fancy? Well then... here's a few more places to check out to make your own lesson:
Jennysmith.net (these are object lessons for keeping the commandments)
The ever amazing Sugardoodle.
Here's an FHE lesson from Deseret Book but could easily be adapted.
