January Sharing Time WK 1

God is the Father of my spirit

Download this picture to print

Long ago before we came to Earth we lived in a place that when we came to Earth we forgot about where we lived and what we had learned..It was here that we lived in the presence of God, we didn't have a body but our spirits were taught, we had our talents and our weaknesses. We looked just as we do but without a body. Heavenly Father is the Father of our spirits, we look like Him and He loves each of us and knows our names. He gave us agency to choose for ourselves. Heavenly Father presented to us the choice to choose a side or a plan, no one couldn't make a choice, everyone who has or will be on Earth chose to follow Heavenly Father. (What do you choose? Did you choose to follow Heavenly Father's Plan or Satan's Plan? How do you know?) Heavenly Father presented a plan for each of us to come to Earth and gain a body. It was coming to Earth that was essential in becoming more like Heavenly Father and to return to Him.

Primary 7, Lesson 1

I'm really excited for this year's lessons and Sharing Time because these kids are going to be learning so much about our Savior and His life between the two. In our Primary, I'm in charge of the Valiant classes and during a meeting with the teachers, I asked if they would be interested in setting aside the last 10 minutes of class to let the kids write and answer questions about what they had learned each Sunday, each teacher was enthusiastic!! So I'm going to be creating sticker questions that you can just print and stick into a notebook for that week's lesson. These will be printable onto the shipping labels (10 labels per sheet) or easily onto just the sticker sheets and you can cut them out. (NO AFFILIATE LINKS). One of our teachers also asked for just a full sheet to print out instead of the stickers so they'll be those too. You could also easily just print the sticker sheets onto regular paper and have glue for the kids to glue the questions in.

This first page the teachers will have the kids glue to the front of their notebooks, just a fun fact sheet and a belongs to page.
DOWNLOAD PDF HERE (includes this page and one below)

This page is the same questions from the sticker label sheet but on a full sheet form. The teacher in our Primary is making an actual 3 ring binder for the kids with these.

October 2015 Monthly Poster

My absence has been due to my husband's finals, the holidays, missionary homecomings, and a funeral, right along with a pregnancy and trying to get stuff put together for our own Primary. Thank you all for your emails in asking how we are fairing!! Your sweet emails have buoyed me, we are doing well, busy, but good. The baby is continuing to grow and we find out the gender this week (place your bets...umm... wait that's gambling).
I will be getting the rest of the monthly posters and the last few things out for Primary this week hopefully by Saturday. Thank you so much for your support and for staying with me during this crazy time!

{Sharing Time} “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” came from God to help my family.

I love how in the outline it says,
Show the children pictures of the Ten Commandments and the scriptures. Ask, “Where did these come from?” Explain that they came from God through His prophets to help us know what to do. Show the children a copy of “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” and explain that it came from God through His latter-day prophets to help our families.

Materials you'll need:

Printouts
(includes phrases and large pictures from below)
Scissors
Tape/magnets/sticky tack
Scriptures
Picture of Moses and the Ten Commandments

You will line up the pictures on the board on one side in no particular order and then the phrases on the other side of the board in no particular order. Each class will come up and share what their phrase is about and then using chalk, draw a line to match their phrase to their picture. (Example below)

Explain what is in the outline by showing the picture with Moses and the scriptures
Hand out each of these phrases (included in printouts), or get your own phrases, to the classes. (Pictures are for your reference to match with) Have each class read and discuss what their phrases mean, and then have them come up and find the picture that matches their phrases. Talk/ask questions about each of the phrases.

(INCLUDES PHRASES AND PICTURES)

"...marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children."

"All human beingsmale and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose."

"In the Premortal Realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life."

"The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally."

Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live.

"Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities."

"Fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners."

{Sharing Time} By giving service to others, I give service to God

I love these quotes about service!

“Often small acts of service are all that is required to lift and bless another. ... The desire to lift, the
willingness to help, and the graciousness to give come from a heart filled with love.”
President Monson

“The needs of others are ever present, and each of
us can do something to help someone.” President Monson

“I believe that love is shown by how you live, how you serve, and how you
bless others. When we serve others, we are showing them that we love them, and we
are also showing Jesus Christ that we love Him” President Monson

This game is from last year but the theme is the same and I spent the last few days thinking of something new and nothing was coming so.. next week's Sharing Time will have a brand new game!!

Play a matching game, draw ideas yourself or let the kids. So many possibilities with this set because it includes so much to help the kids figure out what service is all about.
I'll also have a bookmark later today to be able to download :)

Included:

-Instructions/ Ideas on how to play
-14 Ways to Serve
-11 People to Serve
-13 Scenario Cards
- 1 Sheet of Blank Ways to Serve
